With a total production of 16000 bottles, they like to call themselves the biggest little winery in Koringberg! And as a member of the Swartland Independent Producers, they believe in minimal intervention so the grapes are hand-harvested from selected sites in the Swartland. They do not add any acid, commercial yeast or commercial enzymes, but rather let the wild enzymes and yeast ‘do their thing’. Join us for a taste of the Swartland this Friday 10 August (3pm – 6pm).

Michelin-starred Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen is passionate about South African food and wine and all the dishes served at his restaurant, JAN, on the Côte d’Azur, have some South African influence. It therefore made sense to stock South African wine too, and 60% of his winelist is Proudly SA! He was personally involved during the making of his own-label wines – the JAN Special Cuvèe White and JAN Special Cuvée Red, are blended from grape varieties grown on one of South Africa’s foremost organic wine farms, Org de Rac, in the Swartland. Only 600 bottles of each were made and we are lucky to have a few in stock!
