Terms & Conditions


  • You must be over 18 years of age to buy wine!
  • All wines are sold by the case, except for gifts such as CorkPops openers.
  • We try our best to ensure that we send the vintage you order. If the producer is out of stock, and we can not find the wine anywhere else, we will contact you for instructions on whether to send a later vintage, or refund the order.
  • All prices include VAT.
  • Except for gifts, the minimum order is 12 bottles – we will however ship 6 bottles with a minimal shipping surcharge.


  • We accept visa, mastercard credit and debit cards, and direct deposits.
  • All online credit card payments are processed by the PayFast Internet Payment Gateway.
    Card Holders may go to www.payfast.co.za to view PayFast’s security policies.
  • We accept direct deposits / EFT to our FNB Current account.

  • Special delivery instructions can be added during checkout.
  • Please consider using your work address for delivery – it makes your colleagues green with envy!
  • We currently take about 7 days to deliver wine within South Africa – if we suspect any delays we will contact you immediately for instructions.
  • Breakage policy : As wine bottles are rather fragile, we unfortunately do experience breakages…
    • Breakage policy – Bottle: If you receive your wine, and you notice that a bottle has been broken please write this on the waybill you sign (that way we can claim it back from insurance).
      Then please let us know how many bottles are broken (and which wine), and we will immediately put the appropriate amount back into your credit card, or send you replacement wine. The choice is yours.
    • Breakage policy – Case: in the very extreme case of the whole case being damaged, please do not accept the delivery. Then please let us know and we will get you a replacement ASAP.


  • When checking out you can add a gift message or special delivery instructions.
  • When sending a gift we do not include the pricing in the parcel.
  • If you add a gift message we include a card in the box with your message.


  • If you are not completely happy with your purchase, please contact us to arrange collection and a refund.
  • In cases of unavailability, we will refund you in full within 7 days.
  • Any complaints regarding the standard and quality of the products bought should be directed to the Shop Manager, Gary van der Walt – wineandco@whalemail.co.za
  • Wine and Company reserves the right to cancel an order for which payment has already been received if stock is insufficient or the quality of goods ordered does not meet our standards.
    Should we ever exercise this right, we will first communicate with you to try and suggest alternative wines, failing which you will receive a full refund with no deductions.
